DFO provides vessels that work to guard offshore wind farms during the construction phase, and survey vessels for use during the consenting, construction and O&M phase.

The guard vessels are for the purpose of protecting working vessels, personnel and other sub-sea or surface installations, including exposed cables and pipelines from the dangers arising from fishing activities or other marine traffic movements. Survey vessels are equipped to carry out research at sea, including benthic, pelagic, ornithological and sea mammal survey etc.
