Dong Fang Offshore to Establish Branch in Norway in 2025

Taiwan – Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) announces today that it has signed a contract with the Norwegian ocean services provider DeepOcean for the charter of the Orient Adventurer, with the firm period commencing in early 2026 and ending at the end of 2027, and up to four years of extension. "We are excited to welcome Orient Adventurer back to our fleet of advanced subsea assets. This high-quality, versatile vessel aligns perfectly with our service offerings, including both renewable energy and conventional sectors. With a proven track record of global operations, Orient Adventurer will be a valuable addition to our operational capabilities across geographies," says Ottar K. Mæland, Chief Operating Officer at DeepOcean.

The Orient Adventurer will work primarily in Europe within the offshore energy industry but is also planned to support operations in other parts of the world.  As part of the charter, DFO plans to open a branch office in Norway in 2025 to facilitate early deployment and ensure the smooth execution of the project from 2026.
DFO CEO Chen Polin stated, "This commitment is the first time a Taiwanese offshore energy contractor has deployed vessels into the European market, and not only symbolizes a breakthrough in our vessel management and technical capabilities, but also proves that Taiwanese companies can secure a place in the most challenging global market. We will continue to drive innovation, strengthen our competitive edge, and provide higher-quality services to the global market."

DFO is one of the largest offshore energy contractors in APAC, owning and operating a fleet of 16 vessels, including those under construction, primarily supporting the offshore wind energy industry.
